Also in 2023, Vieste establishes itself as the most popular tourist destination in Puglia, recording impressive numbers that testify to its unstoppable appeal. During the year, the city saw the presence of 1 million 960 thousand 580 visitors, with a significant number of 328.650 arrivals. These data, announced on the occasion of the Bit in Milan, reflect the constant interest in this pearl of the Gargano, despite the challenges posed by the global tourism panorama. The data of tourist rentals, houses rented out, not yet presented, will also be added to the total.
Compared to 2022, when Vieste (including tourist rental data, not yet available) had 2.058.000 presences and 340.000 arrivals, 2023 marks a slight decline in presences. This decrease, however, does not affect the important position that Vieste has held in the regional and national tourism sector for many years now. (see data 2010-2019). In comparison with 2021, which recorded 1.969.531 presences and 304.735 arrivals (to be added to those of tourist locations), a trend of substantial stability can be seen, with a slight variation in the numbers which underlines the importance of strategies aimed at further incentivising tourism.
