Beware of the ZTL and evening pedestrian area in Vieste
During the summer, the centre of Vieste becomes even more welcoming thanks to theestablishment of limited traffic zones (ZTL) and evening pedestrian areas. This means that at certain times of the day, especially in the evening, many streets in the historic centre and along the seafront are closed to traffic to allow visitors to walk in peace. Leaving your car parked beyond the permitted time may result in fines and removal.
The main areas affected by the ZTL and the pedestrian area include:
- Lorenzo Fazzini Course
- Viale Sailors of Italy
- Via Veneto and Viale XXIV Maggio
- Colombo Promenade
During periods and on roads subject to ZTL, parking fees are reduced by 8: 00 to 20: 00 instead of until 24:00 am.
Those staying in the city centre should take these limitations into account when choosing where to park, opting for a more distant parking area or using available passes.
In the areas highlighted from 20:00 p.m. onwards, circulation and parking of all vehicles are prohibited, with the exception of vehicles used by all police services, the Armed Forces, and adequately recognisable Public Relief Bodies, as well as vehicles serving people with limited motor skills, holders of a valid permit and vehicles in possession of a permit to access the ZTL.
