action to make this quarantine in which we have been in for over a month now more cheerful and shared.
April 23rd in Vieste is the day to celebrate St. George, patron and protector of the Gargano town.
This year, given the restrictions due to the Covid19 emergency, this Tradition has also given way to safety: religious celebrations will be held behind closed doors.
Radio Amu.china then thought, with the collaboration of the St. George Martyr Festivities Committee, to organize an alternative program of the festival that follows the
traditions and popular meanings to make sure that, even from home, every Viestan can feel the special day in some way through the proposed contents
which has always characterized the month of April. It starts with the bands of the town with their historical marches to move on to cultural dissemination by the tourist guide Giorgio Olivieri who will tell us stories and curiosities related to the festival over the centuries. Tonia Notarangelo of the Federazione Italiana Cuochi will take care of preparing, as every year, the omelette popular symbol of the day, to then move on to the Covidance talk which will see the president of the committee Leonardo Cavaliere as a guest. You won't miss the horse race, rethought for the occasion in the form of a quiz with lots of jockeys and winner, to move on to the fundamental musical entertainment and end in style with fireworks, like every year.
An initiative that has the sole purpose of making lighter a lack that will weigh in the heart of every Vieste, in order, once again, to feel all united
despite the distances that separate us.
And as they say in these cases: "The whole citizenry is invited!"
