Scialara’s beach is the main one in Vieste. It’s located at the bottom of the chalky rock where the old town centre is located. This beach is also called the ‘’Castle beach’’, since the Norman Castle overlooks it, creating an amazing outlook. Another feature on this beach is the ‘’Pizzomunno’’, a monolite that has become a symbol for the city. The beach is 3 kilometers long, al golden sand. Easily accessible, with lots of bathing establishments, it features shallow waters and sandy sea bottom, making this beach just the right choice for children. It’s also perfect for long walks or to jog at dusk and dawn.
