Here comes the operating system named after Vieste

“Vieste” is the code name of one Linux distribution entirely Italian created by Ufficio Zero.
GNU/ Linux is an operating system created in 1991 by Linus Torvalds and carried forward by a worldwide community of developers supporting free software, which over the years has become an alternative to "proprietary" Windows systems and Mac operating systems.

As you learn from the site Linux Freedom

the variants proposed by Ufficio Zero are 3:
Ufficio Zero 2.0 Rome, based on Devuan ASCII, for 32 bit architecture;
Ufficio Zero 2.0 Vieste, based on Linux Mint MATE 19.3.
Ufficio Zero 2.0 Mantova, based on PCLinuxOS, derivative of Mandriva.

The developers state that the Vieste version is recommended for users coming from proprietary systems, the system automatically recognizes connected printers and scanners and is easy to use. Furthermore, there is support for the Orca screen reader introduced following the request received from foreign and visually impaired users. Vieste is designed for those who are making the step towards a GNU/Linux distro.

We have used a differentiation between versions using the codenames Rome, Vieste and Mantua but the next versions we are going to work on may have different city names. Our codenames will refer to the names of Italian cities and each will have a "city" background. Those who use them abroad will thus have the opportunity to admire our beauties, this is our contribution to encourage tourism, a form of advertising for the national territory.

these are the words of Julian Del Vecchio, one of the developers of Ufficio Zero.

We are structuring ourselves, we realize that the road is long but our intention is to offer an open and complete operating system. The path taken convinces us more and more, this still represents a niche sector today for which using basic distros that have a good community and development and customizing them for the end user's experience is our first goal.

The choice of the name can be considered further proof of the fame of Vieste in the world, even in the most technological circles.
