Vieste and its guests 2026: over a thousand responses to TurismoVieste.it's independent questionnaire

More than a thousand tourists have already participated in the satisfaction questionnaire An independent site promoted by TurismoVieste.it to collect reviews, opinions, and suggestions from those who have chosen Vieste for their holidays.

The responses collected so far are 1.032, a number that confirms the great participation of visitors and their desire to contribute to the improvement of the destination.

The survey is not intended to replace official statistical surveys, but rather serves as a useful listening tool for understanding tourist perceptions, identifying key strengths, and focusing attention on areas requiring further intervention.

Vieste continues to please its guests

The first data confirm an overall very high level of satisfaction.general experience gets an average rating of 4,41 of 5, with almost the 90% of the respondents which assigns a rating of 4 or 5.

The evaluations regarding thewelcome and courtesy, with an average of 4,40, And the accommodation, which reaches 4,37 of 5Restaurants and bars, on the other hand, get an average of 4,27.

Lower, but still positive, is the evaluation of thecity organization, which stops at 4,06 of 5It is precisely in this context that some of the main critical issues reported by the participants emerge.

Il 78,8% of those interviewed said they would definitely return to Vieste, while 15% answered “maybe” and 6,2% said they wouldn't return.

The sea, beaches and historic centre are the main strengths

The sea remains the main motivation for travel.87,7% of the participants in fact, it indicates “beach and sea” among the reasons that determined the choice of Vieste.

They follow the food and gastronomy, chosen by 50,5% of those interviewed, nightlife, boat trips, culture and history.

Among the most popular places we find:

  • The beaches, indicated by the 78,1 % of participants.
  • The historic center, chosen by the 67,6 %.
  • The coast and the sea caves, with the 42 %.
  • The Umbra Forest and nature, with the 31,2 %.
  • The surroundings, including Peschici, the Tremiti Islands and Monte Sant'Angelo, with the 26,8 %.

The data therefore confirms the extraordinary strength of Vieste's natural and landscape heritage, as well as the growing interest in the historic center, its gastronomy, and local experiences.

Parking, transportation, and prices are among the most frequently reported issues.

In addition to the positive aspects, the questionnaire allows tourists to indicate the services they feel need improvement.

The most reported criticality concerns the parking lots, indicated by the 35,9% of the respondents. Follow the public transport, with 33,3%, and the ratio between quality and prices, reported by 32,1%.

There are also requests for greater attention to:

  • Environment, cleanliness and protection of the territory, indicated by 26 %.
  • Health services, with the 23,4 %.
  • Events, with the 16,3 %.
  • General organization, with the 13,7 %.
  • Access to the beaches, with the 13,3 %.

These findings are also reflected in the numerous comments freely left by participants. Nearly 500 people chose to share their experiences in more detail, highlighting in particular the difficulties of traveling without a car, the lack of connections between the city center and the various coastal areas, parking issues, cleanliness, and rising prices.

An interesting element concerns the differences between the different months of the season. The average rating of the general experience varies from 4,56 out of 5 in June a 4,34 in July, to go down to 4,31 in August.

Even more evident is the difference in the perception of the city organization, evaluated 4,26 in June, 4,01 in July e 3,83 in AugustThe percentage of tourists who would definitely return to Vieste is also progressively decreasing: 82,8% in June, 78,2% in July e 72% in August.

These findings suggest that the concentration of visitors during peak periods can impact the perceived quality of the experience, making it even more important to consider how the tourist season is managed and how visitors are distributed.

An independent initiative to improve the destination

The answers collected through the questionnaire will flow into "Vieste and its guests", the study on tourism in Vieste published every year in autumn since 2020, edited by Diego Romano and promoted by TurismoVieste.it.

This is an independent initiative whose results are made public for consultation by citizens, tourism operators, associations, and administrators.

The aim is not to draw up rankings or simply celebrate positive results, but to contribute to a broader reflection on quality of services offered to tourists and onimpact of tourist flows on the territory.

A destination's success, in fact, cannot be measured solely by the number of arrivals and overnight stays. It's also necessary to understand guest satisfaction, the quality of their experience, the difficulties encountered, and the impact that tourism concentrated in just a few months has on mobility, the environment, services, and the lives of residents.

The more than a thousand responses already collected confirm Vieste's continued popularity for its sea, beaches, landscape, historic center, and hospitality. At the same time, they highlight the areas where further work is needed to make the destination more organized, accessible, and sustainable.

The questionnaire will remain active also in September, allowing us to collect further information useful for analyzing the visitor experience in the final part of the tourist season.
