Where is Vieste

Vieste is located on the easternmost part of the Gargano promontory, in the province of Foggia, in the northernmost part of the Puglia region.
Bathed by the Adriatic Sea, the territory of the municipality of Vieste extends north up to the Sfinale bay, where it borders on Peschici, and south to the bay of Vignanotica, on the border with Mattinata. In the westernmost part, towards the interior, we find the Umbrian forest and borders with Monte Sant'Angelo and Vico del Gargano.

It falls within the Gargano National Park and is 93 km from Foggia, the provincial capital.

Getting to Vieste by car

The reference motorway exits are from the north the exit from Poggio Imperiale (A14) , Candela (A16) for those coming from Naples e Foggia (A14) for those coming from Bari and other places in Puglia. Leaving the highway you will arrive in Vieste with the highway, passing through Manfredonia if coming from the South or Lesina if coming from the North.

Getting to Vieste by bus from Rome or Milan

To get to Vieste by bus you can use the services offered by Gargano railways , which offers connections between Vieste and some of the main Italian cities including Rome, Bologna and Milan.

Getting to Vieste by bus from Naples

From Naples it is advisable to take the Air Mobilità company bus to Foggia (ticket available online with the Unico Campania app, departure Metropark p.za Garibaldi.) and continue with one of the bus from Foggia to Vieste of the Gargano railways or Sita Bus

Getting to Vieste by plane

The closest airport is that of Foggia, although at the moment it only carries out domestic flights from Milan, Turin, Verona and Catania, operated by the company Lumiwings .
Another airport is that of Bari-Palese, from which a transfer service , located about 180 km away. From there it is possible to take a bus or a train to Foggia, and then a bus numbers or a taxi to reach Vieste.
Alternatively, other nearby airports are Naples and Pescara, to then reach Vieste by rental car or bus.

Getting to Vieste by train

Vieste does not have a train station. The nearest large station is that of Foggia, where many trains arrive. Subsequently it can be reached by line bus from Foggia to Vieste of the Gargano railways or Sita Bus  or by taxi and Ncc.
An alternative, valid especially in the summer, is to take the "Foggia- Peschici Calenelle" train of the Gargano railways and from here reach Vieste
