Sea, beaches and simplicity: seaside holidays are the favorites of Italians in 2020

Despite a very complicated tourist season due to the emergency, in the Italian seaside resorts there is an air of confidence, going towards a full house in view of the ferragosto.
If on the one hand there is still a lack of presences from foreigners and there have been clear drops in presences between June and July, the historic seaside resorts such as Rimini, Vieste, Cervia, Ugento, Riccione, Cattolica and Bellaria attract many Italians in August, for a simple holiday made of life in the open air, between umbrellas, games and walks always respecting the rules of social distancing and common sense.
Many Italians have returned to the beach who in recent years had preferred exotic destinations or trips to European capitals.
We can also see some foreigners, especially Swiss and Bavarians who travel by car, a sign that the flight situation has not yet returned to normal. In fact, the number of visitors to the cities of art has dropped sharply, until last year they were besieged by North American, Japanese and North European tourists.

At the top of the preferences are the locations of theEmilia Romagna and Puglia, benefiting from the very large ones Adriatic beaches, perfect for having space and enjoying the sea in complete safety, also thanks to the shallow water perfect for children.
Holiday homes and small B&Bs are doing very well in all locations, full houses even for the resorts a Vieste and Salento while they are recovering the more classic structures such as the 3 Star Hotel in Cattolica, also thanks to the Holiday Bonus which despite some problems has been exploited by many families and couples.
On the other hand, evident decreases for the localities of Sardinia, as noted by the bulletin of the Italian National Tourism Agency.

Speaking with hoteliers, the feeling is that despite the inevitable losses, the dramatic forecasts made in May have been exceeded. The courage and efforts of the operators, very often uncertain about reopening, was eventually rewarded and employment safeguarded.

The sea pleases and becomes the favorite destination of families, groups of friends and more or less young couples. A space of freedom and a "safe" place, where you just need to dive into the water to escape crowds and excessive confusion.
And to round off the evenings, walks along the seafront, ice cream and street food, among Apulian piadinas and focaccias, the inhabitants of the beautiful country seem to have rediscovered the charm of the more classic Italian holiday.
