Also known as "Spiaggia Lunga", the Scialmarino beach is located about 4 km from Vieste on the coast road in the direction of Peschici, not far from the sanctuary of Santa Maria de Merino.
It is a golden sand beach, almost 3 kilometers long, with a gently sloping seabed. Its bay is very suggestive and also offers the view of a trebuchet.
Scialmarino is an area rich in Resorts.
Due to its location being windy in the low season it is frequented by many enthusiasts kitesurf, a sport in which it is possible to attend courses at a specialized center in the bay.
How to reach the Scialmarino beach
The beach is accessible through both through the many tourist villages and through public roads.
The first access to the South is near the villages Tufara Bay, Porticello, with a small road that leads to a few meters from the beach and the cliff on which the trabucco is located (indicazioni).
After another small road, the other main access is near the Camping Umbria (directions), turning right at the crossroads where the road to Mandrione/Foresta Umbra starts, you can arrive by car a few meters from the Scialmarino beach.
