The best Apulian beaches from the Gargano to Salento

Italy is undoubtedly known for having some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. With its crystal clear waters and white beach, many tourists come to our shores every year to enjoy a bit of tranquillity.
We asked for advice from Marco of Nelsalento.com who has been promoting the area for 20 years with his website and recommends the most beautiful villages of Salento.
Among the most beautiful beaches in Italy we find those of Puglia, one of the most beautiful regions both from a cultural and tourist point of view. Within this guide, therefore, we show you which are the most beautiful beaches in Puglia, from Gargano al Salento.

Maldives of Salento
: in Marina di Pescoluse we find the Maldives of Salento. Right in the heel of the boot. There are numerous awards it has received over time, precisely because in addition to boasting beautiful water, it offers the right space for both young people and families.
The establishment opens at 7 in the morning for those who love the quietest hours and then closes at 10. In short, it really guarantees you a complete day at the beach, where you can take advantage of all possible comforts thanks to the presence of the rental of umbrellas and deck chairs, but also the newsagent, the bar, the beach articles shops, etc.
For sports lovers there is a beach volleyball court, an aerobics area, a pedal boat rental area and obviously stretches of sand where you can lie down and relax.

Bay of the Turks: Baia dei Turchi is located in the northern part of Puglia, between the tower of the Bear and that of Otranto. It is inside the protected oasis of the Alimini lakes and has been noted for its high quality. On one side you can see the rocks, on the other the pine forest. You can reach it from both sides and take the opportunity to take a walk, otherwise you can take the shuttle. In addition to the rental of sunbeds and umbrellas, you will find the bar where you can stock up on sandwiches and drinks.

Punta Prosciutto: it is located between the provinces of Lecce and Taranto. This beautiful beach is immersed in the Palude del Conte and Duna Costiera Natural Park, between Torre Lapillo and Torre Colimena.
You can choose to spend your vacation days here if, for example, you are traveling with children and want them to play in peace, along this beautiful pristine beach.
You can access the free part of the beach or the one where you can rent sunbeds, deck chairs and umbrellas. There is no shortage of spaces where you can practice water sports such as sailing, diving and windsurfing.

Pozzelle Tower: it is located only a few kilometers from Ostuni and Brindisi. You can get there by car, while buses are not available. In reality it is not a single beach, but the union of 5 different sandy coves. They are free beaches surrounded by a beautiful crystalline sea.

Cala Lunga: it is located in the Gargano National Park, a few kilometers from Peschici. It is a protected area, one of the most beautiful in all of Puglia. Cala Lunga is nothing more than a soft sandy bay set between two rocky ridges. Even the seabed is sandy and the sea is always crystalline. It is a free beach that you can reach by car. However, there is no shortage of umbrellas and sunbeds that you can hire, with a good bar service.

Cala dell'Acquaviva: this cove is located in Marina di Marittima, in the province of Lecce. This bay is made up of rocks and pebbles. There are cold water springs nearby, much colder than any other beach nearby. It is a free beach, with no establishments, which makes it much quieter than many others from various points of view.

Zagare Bay: also known as Baia dei Mergoli or Baia dei Faraglioni, the complex of Zagare Bay, near Mattinata. It owes its name to the citrus blossom that characterizes this place.
The cliffs are white and there are several coves in between. From here several groups of friends leave by boat, ready to discover the area but above all the sea caves where it is possible to see the stacks up close.

Monachile blade: The last beach in Puglia that I am telling you about today is Lama Monachile, it is located at Polignano a Mare. It is one of the most famous because it is located in one of the most romantic and fascinating cities. The beach is small, so it tends to get crowded quickly. Better to go early in the morning if you are looking for tranquility. From here there are also several boats where tours with aperitifs are included.
Reaching the bay is very simple because it is located 600 meters from the centre, right next to the city gates. It is located on the bed of an ancient dried up stream, which flowed directly into the Mediterranean Sea.
