Pugnochiuso is a town located on the coast between Vieste and Mattinata, 20 km from the town of Vieste, which owes its name to the shape of the hills that rise above the sea, giving the impression of a "closed fist".
Here stands a famous resort strongly desired by Enrico Mattei who discovered these green bays while flying over the Gargano coast in '59.
The construction of the resort, in the 60s, kick-started the tourism industry on Gargano.
The Pugnochiuso beach is located within the accommodation facility and is therefore accessible only through the resort or by sea.
About 200 meters long, it has a sandy bottom and is surrounded by greenery.
The view that can be seen from the nearby Torre dell'Aglio and the Torre Preposti lighthouse is also very beautiful.
