From 5 to 7 September 2025 Vieste celebrates with great participation Holy Mary Star of the Sea, the Madonna dei Marinai, deeply rooted in the culture and identity of the village. An event that unites faith, emotion, popular tradition, and moments of celebration.
The statue of the Madonna, kept in a niche on the port, returns to be the protagonist of the solemn procession on land and at sea, in an evocative ceremony that involves the entire community. The celebrations are accompanied by a rich religious program and a series of civil events in the small square of the Parish of SS. Sacramento.

Religious program
- August 24 – 19:30 PM: Holy Mass for the 71st anniversary of the Pious Transit of Don Antonio Spalatro
- August 28 – 18:30 PM: Enthronement of the statue with the firing of 10 firecrackers
- From August 29th to September 5th – 19:00 pm: Novena and Holy Mass (broadcast on chiesavi.it/ss.sacramento)
- September 5th – 19:00 PM: Holy Mass with offering of flowers to the Madonna
- September 6th – 17:00 PM: Solemn Holy Mass and procession through the streets of the town. Following, a procession to the sea with blessing of the boats, throwing of the wreath for the fallen at sea and repositioning of the statue in the niche
- 7 September Holy Masses at 10:00 am and 19:00 pm

- 1 September Exhibition of drawings by the children of the oratory
