Feast of St. Anthony in Vieste: religious and civic program
La Feast of St. Anthony in Vieste accompanies the days leading up to June 13th with religious celebrations, moments dedicated to children, music, a fair, and fireworks.
Religious program
30 May at 18.45: solemn enthronement of the statue of Saint Anthony with the firing of firecrackers.
From May 31st to June 12th, 6:45 pm: Holy Mass and Tredicina in honor of the Saint.
10 June at 18.45Holy Mass dedicated to the sick and suffering with the elderly of the “Gesù e Maria” Rest Home.
11 June at 18.45Holy Mass celebrated by Don Michele Coppolecchia with a blessing from the city's children and a gift from the committee to the children born in the last year who bear the name of the Saint.
13nd June: Holy Masses at 5.30, 7.00, 8.30, 10.00 and 11.30, with distribution of Blessed Bread.
All 19.00 Evening Mass presided over by Father Franco Moscone, Archbishop of Manfredonia – Vieste – San Giovanni Rotondo.
All 20.00 solemn procession of Saint Anthony with the Chapter and Priests.
All 21.30 return of the procession and fireworks at Marina Piccola.
Civil program
10 June at 20.30“History and Cult of the Saint,” a guided tour of the Church of San Francesco, led by the Mythos Association.
11 June at 20.00The festival opens with a firecracker display and a tour of the town by the "Città di Vieste G. Cariglia" band. The fair opens. “The Fruits of the Wheat” at the gardens of Via Veneto.
12 June at 19.30: Sant'Antonio Fair “I Frutti del Grano” and tour of the “P. Rinaldi” band.
All 20.30 "Giovanna Travaglio Memorial," Sant'Antonio and the children with a fun village, games, inflatables, and magic. Followed by Cristina D'Avena Tribute to the gardens of Via Veneto.
13nd June: alle 8.00 firecrackers and a tour of the “G. Cariglia” and “P. Rinaldi” bands. 18.00 new tour around the town.
All 22.00 concert of The Gemini of Guidonia a Marina Piccola.
All 24.00 The festival will conclude with a fireworks display at the tourist pier.
