Christmas in Vieste 2024-2025, the events

With the arrival of Christmas, Vieste transforms into an enchanted place with a rich calendar of events that go from December 6 to January 6, 2025, designed for adults and children.
The city comes alive with Christmas markets, itinerant shows, show cooking and traditional music, creating a unique and magical atmosphere.

The Inauguration of the events

Christmas celebrations in Vieste begin on 6th December with an unmissable event at the Villa Comunale. Starting at 17:30 p.m., Santa's House will be inaugurated with Christmas choreography accompanied by Disney mascots, a selfie station with animation, and tasty candy floss and popcorn carts. At 18:00 p.m., also at the Villa Comunale, the official lighting of the Christmas tree will take place and the inauguration of the Christmas markets, which will remain open throughout the holiday season with a varied offer of artisanal products.

Traditions, Folklore and Gastronomy

On December 8th, the city will be animated by the bagpipers of Monte Sant'Angelo, which will parade through the streets of the center starting at 17:00 p.m., followed at 18:00 p.m. by the performance of the folk group “Pizzeche & Muzzeche” at the Villa Comunale. During the event, visitors will be able to watch a show cooking of cartellate, traditional sweets prepared by the Comare Contente. This event represents a perfect fusion between culinary tradition and popular music.

Il 13th December, the group “Pizzeche & Muzzeche” returns with new performances of popular dances, while on December 20th it will be the turn of the show cooking of calzoncelli, another typical dessert of Gargano. Both events will take place at the Villa Comunale.

Shows and Concerts Not to be Missed

The Christmas calendar of Vieste also offers a wide choice of musical shows and entertainment. The 18th December, the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta will host the gospel choir “Duke Fisher Heritage Singers” from Atlanta. This concert promises to provide an immersive and spiritual experience.

Il 21th December, the Parish of Santa Croce will be the scene of the concert “Pacem in Terris”, while the Villa Comunale will host the performance of the musical band “Ritmi di Terra”, for those who love popular music. To close the month in style, on December 31st there will be the traditional New Year's in Piazza, with music and celebrations along Corso Lorenzo Fazzini.

On the first day of the year, the bravest are invited to 11th Edition of the New Year's Bath at Marina Piccola, a symbolic event to start the year with energy and good humor.

The Grand Finale of Epiphany

On January 6, Vieste celebrates the arrival of the Befana with a series of events for the little ones. The day begins with the spectacular “Motobefana”, a parade of motorcycles loaded with games and sweets for all the children, organized by the Motoclub Gargano association. This will be followed by dancing and entertainment at the Villa Comunale and, at 19:30 pm, the New Year's Concert at the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, officially closing the festivities with an exceptional musical event.
