Absolute debut of TERRA
The new show by AREA | International POPular Group on Lampedusa
A project conceived by FestambienteSud | A production of FestambienteSud and Art Up Art with the collaboration of
Legambiente, Municipality of Lampedusa, 3rd October Committee Live music: AREA | Narrator: Lucia Vasini | Actions
scenes: Andrea Kvas and Cleo Fariselli | Director: Velia Mantegazza | Texts: Massimo Carlotto, W. Szymborska, Gianni
“Frankenstein” Sassi, Cristina Bergo | Musical direction: AREA

Lampedusa is an island in the center of the Mediterranean, which has become a symbol of a contemporary odyssey that involves countless
populations of the African continent.
It is an unstoppable migration, triggered by civil wars and environmental destruction, neocolonial looting and misery
extended for decades. And it is a humanitarian emergency without equal. Landings and incalculable shipwrecks have made the channel of
Sicily perhaps the largest mass grave in the modern era.
Legambiente Communication Office FestambienteSud _ 348.7196465 _ festambientesud@gmail.com
Lampedusa has now remained the only landing place except in the Mediterranean, where the entire civil community has been participating for years in this
mass exodus, welcoming and providing first aid to migrants. So much so that Lampedusa, in all the Babel of languages of the
migrants, today means "salvation"; even if it is only the first stage on the European continent, because the destination is elsewhere.
Consciously tackling this emergency means politically redesigning relations between Europe and Africa, analyzing i
economic relations between rich and poorer countries, placing the Mediterranean at the center of reflection, but above all
the man.

The welcome and exchanges between peoples, as history teaches us, if practiced in
mutual respect, have always been a source of cultural enrichment and well-being
cheap.

TERRA will take place over an entire day, in four separate appointments:
– the first on Monte Saraceno will take place at 6 at dawn, ”The departure” – Performance by
Paolo Tofani and Lucia Vasini.
– the second in the Castle of Monte Sant'Angelo at 18 pm, “Awareness and the
courage” Performance by Walter Paoli and Marco Micheli, followed by the screening of
film by Silvestro Montanaro "Sankara... and that day they destroyed happiness" with, at the end, a Skype conference call with
the author, live from Ecuador.
– the third in the evening in the Clarisse Cloister at 21, “Terra” – Open Project Area Paolo Tofani, Walter Paoli, Marco
Micheli, Patrizio Fariselli, Lucia Vasini, Andrea Kvas, Cleo Fariselli
– the fourth at 23 pm in the churchyard of the Incoronata church, “La Sharing” Performance by Cleo and Patrizio
Fariselli.
