The most beautiful places to take photos in Gargano, even in autumn

Il Gargano It's one of Puglia's most photogenic areas: white cliffs, beaches, villages perched on the sea, trabucchi, and woods allow for a complete change of scenery in just a few kilometers. If you're looking for what to see in Gargano and you love to take home some beautiful shots, there are some places that are definitely worth a stop.

Autumn, then, offers a different light. The beaches become quieter, the villages find a slower pace and the Umbra Forest It changes color. It's therefore a particularly interesting time for those who love landscape and nature photography.

You don't necessarily need a professional camera: even a smartphone can deliver excellent results, especially when taking advantage of the light at dawn and dusk. And when a particularly beautiful shot is slightly blurry, a tool for sharpen photos before storing or publishing them.

Vieste, Pizzomunno, and the Gargano coast

One of the most recognizable shots is that of the Pizzomunno, the 25-meter-high limestone monolith located at the beginning of Scialara beach. At dawn, the beach probably offers one of the best times to photograph it, with very few people and the light coming in from the sea.

The park is also worth a photographic walk. historic center of Vieste, between alleys, stairways, white houses and sudden openings onto the Adriatic.

Continuing south you come across another symbol of the coast: the Arch of San Felice, a rock formation shaped by the sea that can also be observed from panoramic points along the coastal road.

A little further on we find the Vignanotica beach, surrounded by high white limestone cliffs. Outside the summer season, it's much quieter, and the contrast between the rocks, vegetation, and sea offers numerous photographic opportunities.

Peschici, the trabucchi and the sunsets

Moving north of Vieste, Peschici It's one of the most interesting stops for those who love photographing villages. The town sits on a cliff overlooking the sea, and the castle promontory offers splendid views of the coast.

A particularly interesting point is the area of the Marzini Pine Forest, from which it is possible to photograph Peschici in the distance with the sea and vegetation in the foreground.

Between Vieste and Peschici you will also encounter several trebuchets of the GarganoThese ancient wooden fishing structures, jutting out into the sea, are perfect subjects, especially in the hours close to sunset, when they become silhouettes on the horizon.

The Umbra Forest: A Place to Photograph in Autumn

If there is a place in Gargano that completely changes its appearance with the arrival of autumn it is the Umbra Forest, in the heart of the Gargano National Park.

Beech, oak, and maples take on shades of yellow, red, and orange, as the light filters through the trees, continually creating new vistas. Trails allow for easy access into the forest, and one of the easiest spots to reach is the lake area, particularly evocative when the colors of the vegetation reflect in the water.

For more urban photographs you can continue towards Vico del Gargano e Monte Sant'Angelo, where alleys, stone houses, churches and panoramic views of the area tell of a Gargano very different from that of the beaches.

Photographing the Gargano in autumn It means, therefore, passing in the same journey from the blue of the Adriatic to the colors of the Umbra Forest, from the white cliffs to the small villages of the hinterland. Just pick a day, set out with your camera or simply your phone, and let the road guide you: around here, the right view often appears when you least expect it.
