Launched in July 2020 as an incentive for tourism businesses and economic aid for Italian families, the holiday bonus was one of the most discussed measures of the past summer. There have been many Italians who have used it for their beach holidays, especially to stay in the beautiful places of Emilia Romagna and Puglia.
Benefiting from the presence of very large Adriatic beaches, these destinations have allowed more than others to enjoy family holidays made up of sun, sea and joy.
Due to the not very simple mechanism and the unclear rules, many eligible families have not been able to use the bonus for the summer holidays.
Don't worry, once this difficult moment has passed, those entitled will be able to enjoy a break at the sea between May and June 2021, choosing from the thousands of participating structures of various types: from the seaside villages to Vieste, to 3 Star Hotel in Riccione, passing from holiday homes in Salento to B&Bs on the Amalfi coast.
The new autumn restrictions to counter the Covid19 emergency have made it impossible to spend the amount of the holiday bonus within the deadline originally set for December 31, 2020 and therefore an extension has arrived in the refreshment decree: the holiday bonus can be used by June 30 2021, to pay for services offered by accommodation companies such as hotels, tourist villages, but also business-type holiday homes and B&Bs.
But be careful: the bonus must be requested by December 31, 2021!
For families, the bonus is €500, of which 400 as a discount to be applied directly at the time of payment.
